Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July Party Pad! Inside the Pop Star’s $18 Million Rhode Island Mansion Where She Hosts Iconic Independence Day Event

Pop star Taylor Swift looks to be having anything but a “Cruel Summer” as she soaks up every available opportunity to spend time with her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce ahead of football season.

But even before Swift, 35, and Kelce, 35, began dating, the songstress had made a reputation for herself for being the season’s hostess with the mostest—particularly when it comes to the Fourth of July.

The summertime holiday has become synonymous with Swift’s iconic celebrity gatherings at her historic abode in Rhode Island, where she has hosted everyone from Gigi Hadid and Blake Lively to Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne.

Beginning in 2013, the same year that she purchased her Watch Hill dwelling for $17.75 million, Swift has gathered some of her nearest and dearest at the property to mark the patriotic holiday in true celebrity style.

Though she has taken a few years off from her hosting duties—namely during her six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn, whom she dated from 2017 until 2023—the singer’s parties have still become one of Hollywood’s most talked-about A-list gatherings.

Swift—who was recently seen enjoying a lunch date with Kelce near his Ohio hometown—has not yet revealed whether she’s planning to host a July Fourth event for 2025; however, she may well have a good reason to want to showcase her Rhode Island dwelling to her closest pals.

The residence—which is located in the exclusive enclave of Watch Hill in Westerly and is known locally as “Holiday House”—currently sprawls across 11,000 square feet and features seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

However, it was revealed at the start of the year, that Swift was carrying out some extensive renovations to the property that will see it outfitted with an additional bedroom, while one of the existing rooms will be turned into an “enlarged bedroom suite,” according to the planning application.

In total, the project will add 400 square feet to the property.

Although it is not known when the construction began, the renovation plans were drawn up on Nov. 25 and Dec. 4, 2024, before Swift’s final “Eras Tour” show on Dec. 8, with an expiration date of Dec. 4, 2025.

The renovation will be completed by a team of Rhode Island–based contractors, led by David W. Shafovaloff, who is located in Hope Valley and describes himself on LinkedIn as a “self employed construction project manager” who specializes in “high end residential and commercial construction.”

Should the renovations be done and dusted, it’s thought that Swift will want to take full advantage of her waterfront property for the holiday, particularly given that she was unable to host the annual gathering in 2024 because she was busy traveling the world on her Eras Tour.

Swift’s close connection to the Rhode Island house is no secret—with one source telling Us Weekly in August 2024 that the singer visited the property that same month with the likes of Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Patrick Mahomes, and Jason Kelce, in order to ground herself in the midst of her tour.

“Taylor has been on tour and working nonstop, and she loves the Rhode Island house and wanted to spend some time there while the weather is still good and she can enjoy it,” the insider explained.

“It has felt wonderful to be grounded back home again. It’s been grounding to see friends and family and spend quality time with everyone, chat and get downloaded on everyone’s worlds because she has been so busy and disconnected.”

The Rhode Island house is also where Swift is said to have headed almost as soon as her Eras Tour wrapped—and where she is understood to have taken some much-needed time off, alongside Kelce.

In addition to its many bedrooms and bathrooms, Swift’s opulent home currently features a 36-foot-long parlor and an octagonal dining room.

The extravagant seaside estate was built in 1930 and once belonged to composer and socialite Rebekah Harkness, who was married to William Hale “Bill” Harkness.

While she has yet to confirm whether she will spend this year’s Independence Day at the bad, one thing is certain: Any celebration that takes place will likely be documented on social media, which has traditionally been flooded with photos of the singer and her celebrity pals as they soak up the sun on the holiday.

Luckily for Swift and her friends, there are plenty of places to seek out the sun at the home, which boasts 700 feet of private beachfront and also comes complete with a sparkling swimming pool.

However, the singer has, in the past, gone all out to provide even more entertainment for her guests—even adding an enormous inflatable water park to the property’s grounds one year, so that she and her friends could cool off in the blazing heat.

Over the years, there have also been musical performances—with her close pal, Ed Sheeran, serenading Swift and her friends at one point.

Fashion plays a major role in the gatherings, too, with images taken over the years revealing that Swift and her friends regularly don matching themed ensembles for the festivities, from red, white, and blue striped swimsuits to American flag-emblazoned onesies.

A Rhode Island gathering for the Fourth of July would mark a major milestone in Swift’s relationship with Kelce—who has yet to attend one of the annual events.

Adding to the intrigue around this year’s gathering is the mounting fan speculation that Swift is set to make some kind of major announcement on the patriotic holiday.

The pop star sparked ferocious speculation among her most dedicated followers when she changed her profile picture on Spotify and Apple Music to an image take from her “Red (Taylor’s Version)” photoshoot days before the holiday, leaving many believing that she was trying to send a message.
